The SKATR Roadmap
SKATR is being built in the open with the skaters who use it. Here is what has shipped, what we are working on now, and where this is going. No fixed dates, because we would rather ship things right than ship them on a promise.
Shipped
- Jump analysis. Film a jump and get airtime, rotation, estimated height, and takeoff and landing detection, with the element identified and scored with base value and GOE-style points, similar to a judged protocol.
- Spin detection. Spins are recognized and revolutions counted, with detailed spin analysis still in development.
- Honest results you can correct. When SKATR is confident, it says so plainly. When it is not, it says that too. And when it gets a call wrong, you can correct it in a couple of taps. Every correction makes the system smarter for everyone.
- Coaching remarks. Short, gentle observations based on what was measured. SKATR only speaks when it has something trustworthy to say.
- Training sessions. Plan the elements you want to work on, set goals, track every attempt, and see your outcomes recorded automatically from your filmed attempts.
- Your history and stats. Every analysis saved, searchable, and reopenable.
- Privacy done properly. Your videos are private to your account. Nothing is shared or public. Uploading requires your explicit consent, and deleting your account permanently deletes all of your videos and data.
The alpha is live on iOS (TestFlight) and Android (closed testing), with founding testers skating on it today.
In progress right now
- The founding alpha. A small group of skaters, coaches, and skating parents using SKATR daily and shaping it with their corrections and feedback.
- Sharper accuracy. Higher frame rate capture and every tester correction are making rotation counting and element recognition steadily better, with singles and doubles first.
Coming next
- Your Skating Journey. Add your competitions, upload your solo and a photo of your scoresheet, and SKATR keeps your results, your progression, and your photos from the day in one place you can look back on. Over time, your practice data and your competition results connect, so goals like landing in competition what you already land in practice become something SKATR helps you track.
- Progress charts. Your consistency, your airtime, your elements over time.
- Off-ice training. Plan and track dryland and off-ice sessions alongside your ice time, clearly labeled so off-ice work never mixes into your on-ice stats.
- Milestones and streaks. Recognition for real, measured achievements. First clean double on camera, ten landed Axels, a training streak. Nothing hollow.
- Share cards. Turn a great jump or a new milestone into a clean clip with your numbers on it, ready to post wherever you share your skating.
- Subscriptions and public launch. SKATR will launch publicly with a free tier and a paid tier. Founding alpha testers get 3 months free, as promised.
On the horizon
- Triples and quads. Faster rotation is harder to measure well. We will say it is supported when it truly is.
- Detailed spin analysis. Positions, changes of foot, flying entries, and eventually levels.
- Full program analysis. Your whole solo broken down element by element.
- Tools for coaches. Built with coaches, for coaches, to support the work they do with their skaters.
- Structured learning paths. Especially for adult skaters who train between lessons and want a clear ladder to climb.
What should we build next?
